Prescott, Ore.

Former Vancouver resident Roy Richard Coats died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 1999, in Prescott, Ore. He was 53.

Mr. Coats was born Oct. 5, 1946, in Chicago, and moved to Vancouver from California. He moved to Prescott from Vancouver three years ago.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Rainier, Ore., and enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, reading and prospecting. He also liked model trains, computers and the outdoors.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Coats of Vancouver; two brothers, John and Daniel Coats, both of Vancouver; and one sister, Peggy Coats of Redwood City, Calif.

A gathering will be held in the hospitality room at Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel on Monday from 6 to 7 p.m. Burial will be private. Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

He was married to Cynthia Ann Judd on 21 Feb 1974 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
