Mr. Kappelmann was a student at Texas A&M University in 1957.

Charles Kappelman

Charles W. Kappelman, 64, of Fredericksburg died Thursday, March 15, 2001, at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington.

Born in Pleasanton, Texas, Mr. Kappelman had retired as a lieutenant colonel in the Marine Corps. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam.

Survivors include his wife, Alma "Peggy" Kappelman; two sons, Michael C. Kappelman of Fredericksburg and James D. Kappelman of Chatham; three sisters, Carol L. Hudgens and Arlene K. Milner, both of Seguin, Texas, and Betty K. Irey of Rockport, Texas; a brother, James H. Kappelman of Shawnee, Okla.; four granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Quantico Marine Corps Base Chapel, with Cdr. B.L. Kingwood officiating. Burial will follow in Quantico National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel.

He was married to Alma "Peggy" in Mar 1958 in West Virginia. Charles Wayne Kappelman and Alma "Peggy" had the following children:
