CEDAR GROVE at Jennings Ordinary, was first a Dupuy, then an Eggleston
settlement. Captain Bob Shore, whose wife was Mollie Eggleston, lived here.
Miss Georgena Epes taught school here for some time.

She was married to Robert E. Shore (son of Robert E. Shore and Martha E.) on 21 Oct 1857. Robert E. Shore was born in 1832 in Virginia. He appeared on the census on 1 Sep 1870 in Haytokah, Nottoway County, Virginia. ⁽⁵⁶³⁾ Mary Jane Eggleston and Robert E. Shore had the following children:

943 i. Daughter Shore was born on 1 May 1859. She died on 1 May 1859.
944 ii. Mary Louise Shore was born on 19 May 1860. She died on 1 Mar 1863 in Nottoway County, Virginia. She was buried in Dupuy Cemetery, Poplar Grove, Nottoway County, Virginia.
945 iii. Martha Elvira Shore was born on 5 May 1862. She died on 1 Mar 1863 in Nottoway County, Virginia. She was buried in Dupuy Cemetery, Poplar Grove, Nottoway County, Virginia.
946 iv. Son Shore was born on 20 Feb 1864 in Nottoway County, Virginia. He died on 20 Feb 1864 in Nottoway County, Virginia.
947 v. Robert Edwin Shore was born on 5 Apr 1865 in Nottoway County, Virginia.
948 vi. Beverly Eggleston Shore was born on 11 Jul 1867 in Nottoway County, Virginia.
