When Sue Ollie died, her two children were sent to the Methodist home in Waco, Texas. From there Sarah was adopted by some people in California and never heard from again. Era, who was crippled, lived with various cousins, and stayed in touch with the family.

She was married to Charles Oliver Bale (son of Stephen Turner Bell and Sarah Wright Crosslin) on 11 Jul 1909 in Merkel, Taylor County, Texas.⁽¹¹²⁶⁾ Charles Oliver Bale was born on 20 Apr 1878 in Kentucky. ⁽¹¹²⁷⁾ He appeared on the census on 7 Jun 1900 in Harper City, Harper County, Kansas.⁽¹¹²⁸⁾ He appeared on the census on 25 Apr 1910 in Precinct #5, Taylor County, Texas.⁽¹¹²⁹⁾ He appeared on the census on 7 Jan 1920 in Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon. ⁽¹¹³⁰⁾ He appeared on the census on 2 Apr 1930 in Santa Cruz, Santa Cruz County, California.⁽¹¹³¹⁾ He died on 12 Jun 1950 in Los Angeles County, California. ⁽¹¹³²⁾ Sue Ollie Hunter and Charles Oliver Bale had the following children:

1871 i. Era Bale was born on 23 Jul 1910 in Collin County, Texas. ⁽¹¹³³⁾ She appeared on the census on 19 Apr 1930 in Albany, Shackelford County, Texas.⁽¹¹³⁴⁾ She attended Fort Worth Business College in 1931 in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas. ^(1135)(1136) She died before 1964.

Lived at 3820 M Street, Fort Worth (with Joseph M. Hunter), in 1931, where she was a student at Fort Worth Business college. She also lived for many years with Minnie Martin, widow of a cousin of Robert Hunter's wife Ella. Era lived in San Antonio in 1957, where she was an employee of the US Government. She was crippled at an early age.
1872 ii. Sara Bale was born in 1912. She was adopted in 1915 in Methodist Home, Waco, Texas. She died before 2004.

Sarah was adopted outside of the family after her parents died. She moved to California.
