Kittie Dennis


Services for Kittie Thelma Thorp Dennis, 73, of 15320 W. 35th St. are scheduled, for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel. Gib Fuller will officiate.

Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Dennis died Saturday at Medical Center Hospital.

She was born April 7, 1909, in Big Spring. She was married to Howard Dennis Sr. on Dec. 25, 1934 in Big Spring. He preceded her in death.

She was a member of Westside Baptist Church. She had been a resident of Odessa since 1939.

Survivors include three daughters, Jessie Leola Fuller, Thelma K. Dennis and Mary Ellen Brown, all of Odessa; two sisters, Lottie Bell Newsom of Bakersfield, Calif., and Dorothy Sneed of Colorado City; three brothers, Homer H. Thorp of Forsand, Forest Thorp of Lovington, N.M.; and J.W. Thorp of Big Spring; and seven grandchildren.

She was married to Howard Hands Dennis (son of William Oscar Dennis and Jessie Alexzine Ainsworth) on 24 Dec 1934 in Big Spring, Howard County, Texas. Howard Hands Dennis was born on 18 Apr 1904 in Callahan County, Texas. He died on 7 Feb 1981 in Odessa, Ector County, Texas.⁽²³⁴⁾ He was buried in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Odessa, Texas.

Howard H. Dennis

Howard H. Dennis, Sr., 76, of 15316 w. 33rd, died Saturday at his home.

Services will be at 4:p.m. Monday in the Hubbard-Kelly Funeral home Chapel. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Dennis was a retired Gulf Oil pumper, born April 18, 1904 in Callahan County.

He was married to Kittie Thorp in 1934 in Big Spring. He came to Odessa in 1939 from Crane. He was a member of the West Side Baptist Church.

Survivors are his wife; three daughters Jessie Leola Dennis Fuller, Kittie Thelma Dennis, both of the home, and Mary Ellen Dennis Brown, of Odessa; one brother, Byron Wright Dennis of Odessa; and seven grandchildren.
Kittie Thelma Thorp and Howard Hands Dennis had the following children:
