He was married to Harriett Taylor on 16 Jan 1855 in Sumner County, Tennessee. Harriett Taylor was born in 1833. She appeared on the census in 1860 in District No. 21, Davidson County, Tennessee. ⁽¹⁴⁶⁾ David Hunter and Harriett Taylor had the following children:
