He was married to Anne Cable on 28 May 1837 in Franklin County, Illinois.⁽¹⁰⁸⁾ Anne Cable was born in 1818 in Tennessee. She appeared on the census on 17 Aug 1870 in Richland Township, Crawford County, Arkansas. ⁽¹⁰⁹⁾ Lewis W. Hunter and Anne Cable had the following children:
