Jacob Hunter Dec'd. his inventory returned into court at January sessions 1807 to wit:

Five head of horse, eleven head of cattle, a quantity of hogs, three head of sheep, Four geese, ten ducks,

a quantity of wart hogs, we know not how many, One cart, one wagon, three saddles, two plows,

three hoes and hand saw, Two augers, one drawing knife, one foot adze,

two plains, one chisel, one set of double trees, Two cliveces, one club ax, one iron wedge,

wo pair of gears, two pots, one kettle, one tea kettle,

Two pair of pot hooks, one pair fire tongs, two reap hooks, a case of razors, one slate,

one note of one hundred & fifty dollars which was due January 1804,

one hundred and five dollars now in hand,

fifty dollars which is to be paid in carpenters work,

one open account of 3 dollars 38 1/3 cents and quantity of corn.

Dower of Polly Hunter Lee, Relic of Jacob Hunter

Davidson County, Will Book 4, p. 153

 

POLLY LEE - her dower land etc. See this filed with the deed of July 1811. Sept. 19th, 1811. Agreeable to an order of court from April Sessions 1811 to us directed we have laid off and marked agreeable to the annexed plan Polly Lee late relic of Jacob Hunter deceased Dower including the mansion house & a certain part of the improvement. Beginning at a black oak and elm in the western boundary of the original survey running east, one hundred and twenty five poles to a hackberry then south ninety three poles to a stake in the southern boundary line of the original survey and with that time one hundred and twenty five poles to a corner then north ninety three poles to the beginning containing seventy two acres two rods twenty five poles. Given under our hands this 5th day of July 1811.

JACOB HUNTER, deceased. Division of his estate Sept. 19th, 1811. Made and returned into Court by Thomas Hickman and George S. Allen July Sessions 1811 to wit, agreeable to an order of the court from April sessions 1811 to us directed to said court estate of Jacob Hunter, deceased, agreeable to an inventory returned to said court betwixt Polly Hunter alias Lee and the six children and find each of the heirs and Legatees are entitled to one hundred sixty one dollars eighty nine cents ten mills and five sevenths of a mill as given under our hands this 9th day of July 1811.

We as commissioners of the Worshipful Court of Davidson County for the dividing of the estate of Jacob Hunter deceased on examination from one hundred and sixty one dollars eighty nine cents due to Thomas W. Freeland who intermarried with one of the heirs of that estate to wit Elizabeth Hunter and five dollars and ten cents for rents of land given under our hand this twenty first day of March 1814.

Sale of Homestead, Jacob Hunter, Deceased

Davidson County, Deed Book R, p. 28:

Registered November 29, 1825

This Indenture made this first day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & twenty five between Manuel Hunter, Isaac Hunter, Matthew Hunter, Thomas W. Fulin and Elizabeth his wife, Timothy Dural and Sarah his wife all heirs of Jacob Hunter deceased and of Davidson County and State of Tennessee of the one part and Frederick Carpenter of the County and State aforesaid of the other part.

Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred and fifty dollars to them the said Manuel Hunter, Isaac Hunter, Matthew Hunter, Thomas W. Fulin and Elizabeth his wife, Timothy Dural and Sarah his wife in hand paid before the signing and delivering these presents the receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge, hath bargained granted and sold, aliened, enfeoffed, conveyed and confirmed and by these presents doth bargain, grant, sell, alien, enfeoff, and confirm unto the said Frederick Carpenter forever all the right, title, claim, and [interest] which [are] derived as heirs of Jacob Hunter deceased to a tract or parcel of land containing two hundred and twenty acres which said Jacob Hunter purchased of Robert Weakley by deed bearing the date the 15th of October 1798, lying and being on the north side of Cumberland River and on both sides of Sycamore Creek in the state aforesaid,

Beginning at a white oak and small sugar tree on the north bank of said creek; runs south forty six chains and forty links to a stake; thence east forty seven chains fifty links to the middle of said creek. Thence north fifty links an elm and beach. William Purnell's corner continued north with Purnell's line in all forty six chains forty links to a stake Jacob Mokes corner; thence with Mokes line west passing his corner in all forty six chain fifty links to the beginning.

To have and to hold all our right, titles, claims, of interests as heirs of the aforesaid Jacob Hunter to the aforesaid tract or parcel of land containing two hundred and twenty acres to the same more or less with all advantages, hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining unto the said Frederick Carpenter his heirs and assigns forever.

And the said Manual Hunter, Isaac Hunter, Matthew Hunter, Thomas W. Fulin and Elizabeth his wife, Timothy Dural and Sarah his wife do for themselves, their executors and administrators doth covenant and agree to and with the said Frederick Carpenter his heirs and assigns to warrant and forever defend all their rights, titles, claim or interest as heirs of said Jacob Hunter, Deceased against all persons whatsoever lawfully claiming the aforesaid bargained premesis. In witness whereof we the said Manuel Hunter, Isaac Hunter, Matthew Hunter, Thomas W. Fulin and Elizabeth his wife, Timothy Dural and Sarah his wife hath hereunto set their hand and seal the day and date above written.

State of Tennessee Davidson County Court October Sessions 1825

This indenture of bargain and sale between Isaac Hunter, Matthew R. Hunter, Manuel Hunter, Thos. W. Fulin and his wife Elizabeth Fulin, Timothy Dural and his wife Sarah Dural of the one part & Frederick Carpenter of the other part was acknowledged in open court by the said Isaac, Matthew r., Manuel, Thos. W., Elizabeth, Timothy and Sarah to be their act and deed for the uses and purposes thereon contained. The said Elizabeth and Sarah having been first privately examined by the court separately and apart from their said husbands and having admitted that they executed the said Deed freely, voluntarily, and of their own accord and without fear, coercion, or compulsion of their said husbands ordered that said deed be registered & fee paid.
