Martin Funeral to Be Thursday

The funeral of E. N. Martin, 71, a retired engineer for the Texas and Pacific Railway, will be held at his residence at 2209 Irwin Avenue at 4 p.m. Tursday, with Rev. Marcus Chunn officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Pallbearers will be H. J. Harris, Sam R. Hunnicutt, J. T. Jetton, Richard Landis, Barney Snedeker and V. C. Sellers. Mr. Martin died at his residence at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Mr. Martin, a native of Hickman, Kentucky, was retired about four years ago after 35 years service with the railroad. He was a member of the Queen City Lodge No. 21, Knights of Pythias, of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and of the Central Methodist Church.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Edna Martin; a daughter, Mrs. George T. Kelly, Fort Worth, and a grandson, Paul Martin Turner, Topeka, Kansas.

He was married to Margaret Elizabeth Hargrove (daughter of Solomon Hargrove and Tabitha Jane Tucker) on 25 Dec 1890 in Tarrant County, Texas. Margaret Elizabeth Hargrove was born in Jun 1869 in Henry County, Alabama. She died on 31 Jul 1917 in Tarrant County, Texas.⁽¹⁴²⁾ Newton Elijah Martin and Margaret Elizabeth Hargrove had the following children:
