He was buried in Cannon Cemetery, Rutherford County, Tennessee.

He was married to Isabell Martin (daughter of James Martin and Sarah Baird) on 13 Feb 1813 in Rutherford County, Tennessee. Isabell Martin was born on 20 Feb 1788 in Lincoln County, North Carolina. She died on 13 Apr 1853 in Greenwood, Rutherford County, Tennessee. She was buried in Cannon Cemetery, Rutherford County, Tennessee. William Martin and Isabell Martin had the following children:
