FORT WORTH -- A.L. Sullivan, 85, a retired biochemist with the city of Fort Worth water works, died Monday, April 21, 1997, at home.

Graveside service: 2 p.m. Thursday in Laurel Land Memorial Park.

A.L. Sullivan was born June, 3, 1911, in Bell County. He grew up in Waco. He was a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and a veteran of World War II. He was Mason and a Shriner. He married Mary Elizabeth Beard in Fort Worth May 23, 1936. They were members of University United Methodist Church. His hobbies included farming, barbed wire collecting and studying Texas history and folklore.

Survivors: Wife, Elizabeth Sullivan of Fort Worth; son, Glen Richard Sullivan of Portland, Texas; daughter, Carol Sullivan Taylor of East Wenatchee, Wash.; four grandsons; two granddaughters; and a great-grandson.
