DEATHS
Beulah Bell dies at age 75
Mrs. Beulah Bell, 75, died Wed-nesday night at a Midland nursing home after a
lengthy illness.
Services are scheduled tentatively for 2 p.m. Friday at the Newnie W. Ellis Chapel,
with burial in a Midland Cemetery.
Mrs. Bell was born Dec. 12, 1893, in Williamson County to an early-day ranching
family. She moved to Garden as a child.
She finished her education at Sul Ross State University in Alpine and at West
Texas State University in Canyon.
Mrs. Bell then returned to this area and taught school In Stiles several years.
She was married to Cody Bell Jan. 25, 1925, and moved to their ranch near Castle
Gap. The couple later acquired ranches in Upton County and West and Central Texas.
She had lived in Crane and San Angelo a number of years and moved to Midland
three years ago from Christoval.
Survivors include her husband Cody Bell Sr. of Midland; a son, Cody Bell Jr.,
of Rankin; a daughter, Mrs. M. D. Orman of Burnet; two brothers, and three sisters.
She was married to Cody Mood Bell Sr. (son of Merene Duvall
Bell and Mary Saleda Russell) on 18 Jan 1925 in Garden City,
Glasscock County, Texas.(520)
Cody Mood Bell Sr. was born on 16 Jul 1894 in Dundee, Texas. He
appeared on the census on 9 May 1930 in JP #3, Upton County, Texas.

DEATHS
Cody Bell Sr.
Cody M. Bell Sr., 87, of Midland, died Monday in a San Angelo hospital after
a brief Illness.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Newnie W. Ellis Funeral Home chapel
with the Rev. J. B. Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
Bell was born in Dundee, Texas on July 16, 1894, and moved to Sonora at the age
of three in a covered wagon with his family. In 1901, the family homesteaded
a ranch In Upton County. He attended school in Midland worked for the Scharbauer
Cattle Company. He was married to Beulah Glenn in January 1925. Mrs. Bell preceded
him in death Oct. 20, 1976.
He was actively involved in the oil and ranching business in West Texas until
his death. He also was a former county commissioner of Upton County. He had
been a resident of the Sheraton Hotel for the past several years. He was a lifelong
Methodist
Survivors include a son, Cody M. Bell Jr., of Rankin, a daughter, Lillie Beth
Orman of Burnet and five grandchildren.
