OBITUARIES
IDA MAE COOK
Funeral for Mrs. E.S. (Ida Mae) Cook will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 16,
1990, in, the Brown-Binyon Funeral Home Chapel. Rod Carroll, 16th and Florida
Church of Christ, will officiate.
Mrs. Cook was born Sept. 17, 1902, at Austin, Travis County, Texas, the daughter
of James Alfred and Lillie Pearl (Alexander) Glenn. She died Friday, July 13,
1990, in Chickasha.
Mrs. Cook married Bill Ragland and they were the parents of three children. She
married Ernest S. Cook on Jan. 8, 1954, at Anadarko.
Mrs. Cook was a lifetime resident of the Chickasha area. She was a charter member
of the Sixteenth and Florida Church of Christ and was also a member of the Freeman
Home Demonstration Club.
She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter; a son, Glenn Ragland; and
a daughter, June Bannon; two brothers and one sister.
Survivors include her husband, Ernest Cook of the home; two stepsons, Vernon
Cook of Chickasha, Ernest E. Cook of King, N.C.; two stepdaughters, Bernice Lang
of Midwest City, Mickey Buchanan of Okeene; two brothers, Frank Glenn of Alex,
Jack Glenn of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Edna Sternke of Victorville, Calif.,
Sally Giddens of Alabama; 14 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under direction of Brown-Binyon Funeral
Home.
She was married to William Marshall Ragland (son of
Leroy Thaxton Ragland and Frances Burgess) on 19 Dec 1921
in Chickasha, Grady County, Oklahoma. William Marshall
Ragland was born on 8 Jan 1891 in Hartsville, Trousdale County, Tennessee.
He appeared on the census on 17 Apr 1930 in Hillsboro, Grady County, Oklahoma.

W. M. Ragland Service Sunday
William Marshall Ragland, 60, route 2, Chickasha, died in a local hospital at
5 a.m. today.
Services will be at p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Chickasha Funeral home. William
Cofer of the 16th and Florida Church of Christ will conduct the services.
Mrs. Ragland was born Jan. 8, 1891, in Hartsville, Tenn. Formerly of Walters,
Mr. Ragland had been a resident of this community for past 32 years.
A veteran of World War I and a member of the church of Christ at 16th and Florida,
Mr. Ragland had been actively engaged in farming prior to an operation two weeks
ago. He died suddenly this morning of a heart attack.
He is survived by his wife, Ida Mae; one daughter, Miss June Ragland of Wichita
Falls, Texas; three brothers, Clyde and Dee Ragland of Oklahoma City and Haskell
of Los Angeles, Calif.: and one sister, Mrs. Ethel Bloom
of Edmond.
Interment will be in Rose Hill cemetery.

Ragland Service At 4 P.M. Today
William Glenn Ragland, 9-year-old son of Mrs. and Mrs. W. M. Ragland, Route 2,
died Friday afternoon at the University hospital, Oklahoma city, after a week's
illness. He had been in failing health for several years.
Funeral services will be held at 4 o'clock this afternoon in the chapel of the
Chickasha Funeral home with Rev. C. C. Abbott, pastor of the Church of Christ,
officiating.
The child is survived by his parents; one sister, Norma June; and grandparents,
Mrs. Francis Ragland, and Mrs. and Mrs. G. A. Glenn, Alex. She was married
to Ernest S. Cook on 8 Jan 1954 in Anadarko, Oklahoma. |
