Mr. Rutledge was a private in the US Army in Work War I.

W. B. Rutledge Dies In Big Spring

W. B. (Blake) Rutledge, 70, San Angelo resident three years, died Thursday night at Big Spring Veterans Hospital after a long illness.

Funeral will be held at 3 p.m. today at Johnson's Chapel, with burial in Sherwood Cemetery.

Mr. Rutledge was born Aug. 4, 1896 at Sherwood.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Clayton Eldredge of Fairfax, Va., Mrs. Tommy Benson of Houston and Mrs. Ray Stewart of Midland; three sisters, Mrs. Carl Meneley and Mrs. Arthur Tolson, both of Ohio, and Mrs. Henry Clark of Mertzon; and five grandchildren.

He was married to Ora Neita Coffman (daughter of Albert L. Coffman and Mattie) on 12 Aug 1920. Ora Neita Coffman was born on 9 Jan 1899 in Valley Mills, Bosque County, Texas. She died on 3 Jul 1990 in Sherwood, Irion County, Texas. ⁽⁸³¹⁾ She was buried in Sherwood Cemetery, Irion County, Texas.

NEITA COFFMAN RUTLEDGE

Neita Coffman Rutledge, 91, of 4922 Mariner Terrace died at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday at Meadow Creek Nursing Home.

Service will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the First Christian Church with the Rev. Michael J. Spitters, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery directed by Robert Massie Funeral Home.

She was born January 9, 1899 in Valley Mills, Texas, to A. L. and Mattie Coffman. She had lived in San Angelo since 1939 and was a member of the First Christian Church. She was baptized in Spring Creek at Sherwood Texas.

She graduated from Sherwood High School and attended college at Canyon, Texas. She taught first and second grades at Arden Texas, for several years.

She married Winrow Blake Rutledge August 12, 1920.

She was employed by Cox Rushing Greer Co. for 15 years.

Mrs. Neita C. Rutledge is survived by three daughters, Mary, and her husband, Col. Clayton Eldridge, of Hickory Creek, Sylvia "Hootie" and her husband, Dr. Thomas Benson, of Houston and Mozelle Scott of San Angelo; five grandchildren, Stephen Eldridge, Taylor Benson, Charlotte Koch, Ann Parham and William R. "Scooter" Scott; and several great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Taylor Benson, Dr. Richard Koch, Stephen Clayton Eldridge, William Michael Parham, William Rutledge "Scooter" Scott and nephew Jason Parks.


Winrow Blake Rutledge and Ora Neita Coffman had the following children:
