OBITUARY

ALICE CONKLIN

Services for Alice Edna Conklin, 89, of Crane, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Sheppard Chapel of Memories with graveside services at 3 p.m. at Lamesa Cemetery on Sunday.

She died at 6 p.m. Thursday at her home after a brief illness.

Born on May 8. 1887, in Round Rock, she was married to Byrl Pierce Conklin on May 11, 1904, in Bangs. He died in 1923.

She had been a Crane resident 25 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Drew Lockhart of Crane: a son, Fonza Norris Conklin of McAlister, New Mexico; four sisters, Mrs. Susie Walker of Bangs, Mrs. A. J. Myers and Mrs. Tommy Thompson. both of Brownwood, and Mrs. J. L. Avinger of Sweeney; 11 grandchildren;18 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

He appeared on the census on 18 Apr 1910 in JP #1, Dawson County, Texas. ⁽⁸³³⁾ He appeared on the census on 11 Mar 1920 in Precinct #1, Lamesa, Dawson County, Texas. ⁽⁸³⁴⁾ He died on 23 Dec 1923 in LaMesa, Dawson County, Texas.
