Jess Lee Avinger, 85

Services for Jess Lee Avinger, 85, of Edinburg, were to be at 5 p.m. today at Edinburg. Graveside rites will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Mukewater Cemetery in bangs with Rev. Leon Aduddell officiating.

Davis-Morris Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.

Mr. Avinger, a former Brown County resident, died in Edinburg Wednesday.

Born Oct. 7, 1884 in Brown County, he was a Baptist and moved to Edinburg in 1920.

Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Mrs. Agnes Cope of California; Mrs. Lurline Byram and Mrs. Dorothy Master of Sweeney, Mrs. Ida Baimbridge of Rosenburg, Mrs. Lowell Staggs of Kennedy; five sons, Horace Taylor of Houston, Alden Taylor of Bangs, B. F. Taylor of Arkansas, J. L. Avinger, Jr. of Arlinton, Thomas Avinger of Houston; 18 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Unity Ann Rutledge and Jessee Lee Avinger had the following children:
