Susie Walker, 84

BANGS -- Services for Susie Jane Walker, 84, of Rt. 1, Bangs, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bangs Baptist Church with Rev. David Bugg officiating. Burial will be in Mukewater Cemetery. Davis-Morris Funeral Home of Brownwood is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Walker died at 10:05 a.m. Monday at Brownwood Community Hospital following a six-month illness.

She was born July 5, 1892 in Lampasas and was a housewife. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bangs and had lived 76 years at Bangs. She married Willie Lee Walker at Bangs Aug. 10, 1910. He died Oct. 1, 1963.

Survivors include two sons, Rutledge W. Walker of Bangs, and Ira W. Walker of San Antonio; six daughters, Mrs. Willie Buske of Leslie, Ark., Mrs. Floyd White of Brownwood, Mrs. J. D. Alley of Houston, Mrs. Odessa Clark of Brownwood, Mrs. Dorothy Englert of Ft. Stockton, Mrs. Betty Pierce of Thalia; three sisters, Mrs. Tommy Thompson and Mrs. Aretta Myers, both of Lake Brownwood, Mrs. Una Avinger of Sweeney; 18 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

She was married to Willie Lee Walker (son of Noah B. Walker and Mollie J. Baker) on 14 Aug 1910 in Brown County, Texas. Willie Lee Walker was born on 7 Sep 1886 in Brown County, Texas. He appeared on the census on 15 Apr 1930 in Precinct #6, Brown County, Texas. (839) He died on 1 Oct 1963 in Bangs, Brown County, Texas. He was buried in Mukewater Cemetery, Bangs, Brown County, Texas.

DEATHS AND FUNERALS

WILLIE LEE WALKER, 77, BANGS

BANGS -- Willie Lee Walker, 77, of Bangs, a retired farmer, died at 5 p.m. Tuesday in his home following an apparent heart attack.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in First Baptist Church here with the Rev. Robert Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Mukewater Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home, Brownwood.

He was born Sept. 7, 1886, in Brown County, where he had lived all his life. He married Susan Jane Rutledge in 1910 at Bangs. Mr. Walker was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, R. W. Walker of Abilene and Ira Walker of San Antonio; six daughters, Mrs. Willie Buske of Leslie, Ark., Mrs. Floyd White and Mrs. Odessa Clark, both of Brownwood, Mrs. J. D. Alley of Houston, Mrs. Victor Englert of Fort Stockton and Mrs. Wallace R. Pierce of Norton; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Hardy of Little Rock, Ark., and Mrs. Marie Avinger of Fort Worth; 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
