L. R. Rutledge

Services for L. R. Rutledge, 65, of Lubbock are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Davis-Morris Funeral Home, with burial in the Bangs Cemetery.

Mr. Rutledge died about 11:15 p.m. Sunday in Lubbock. He was born Jan. 10, 1895 in Austin. He served in the Military service during World War I. He was a retired tailor.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lena Rutledge, one son, Jack Rutledge of California, two daughters, Earzeth and Janie Lou Rutledge of Belton.

L. R. Rutledge Rites Set Today

Last rites for Louis Rains Rutledge, 75, 2903 E. Broadway, who died unexpectedly of a heart attack Sunday night, are scheduled at 2 p.m. today in the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Brownwood.

Rutledge was dead on arrival at Porter Clinic-Hospital at 11:15 p.m. Sunday.

Rutledge had lived in Lubbock three years, moving here from Morton. He also formerly lived at Ralls and was a member of the Ralls Masonic Lodge.

Burial will be in Bangs Cemetery, near Brownwood, under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home.

Survivors include the wife; a son, Jack Rutledge, Escondido, Calif.; two daughters, Misses Earzell and Janie Lou Rutledge, both of Belton; four sisters and two brothers.

He was married to Amy Rivers McSpadden (daughter of John Thomas McSpadden and Ella Lee Witcher) on 30 Jul 1916 in LaMesa, Dawson County, Texas. Amy Rivers McSpadden was born on 20 Feb 1898 in Liberty Hill, Williamson County, Texas. She died on 22 Sep 1977 in Escondido, San Diego County, California. ⁽⁵⁸⁸⁾ Louis Rains Rutledge and Amy Rivers McSpadden had the following children:

Katie Maebell Boone was born on 6 Jul 1916. She died on 4 Feb 1998 in Gatesville, Coryell County, Texas. She was buried in Restland Cemetery, Coryell County, Texas. Louis Rains Rutledge and Katie Maebell Boone had the following children:
