NELSON, Mrs. Vera, 73, of Austin, died Thursday. Services 1:30 p.m. Saturday
at Hytlin-Manor Fuenral Hime.
Survivors: sons, R. H. Nelson of Round Rock, Bill Nelson of Victoria; brother,
Alex Hunter of Austin; sister, Mrs. Dan Emmons of Austin; 4 grandchildren; one
great-grandson.
She was married to William Joseph Nelson (son of J. O.
Nelson and Amanda Johnson) on 20 Aug 1927 in Austin, Travis
County, Texas.(1047)
William Joseph Nelson was born on 13 May 1906 in Travis County,
Texas. He died on 6 May 1966 in Austin, Travis County, Texas.
(1048) He was buried in Pond Springs Cemetery, Williamson County,
Texas.
Mr. Nelson was a deputy with the County Sheriff's Department in Austin.
Prior to his job as deputy sheriff, he served several years with the Austin Police
Department. For ten years he was an investigator with the Texas Dental Association.
He was a member of Hill City Lodge No. 456, the Ben Hur Shrine, and the First
Methodist Church.

NELSON RITES SET FOR TODAY
Funeral for Willie J. Nelson, 59, a deputy with the Travis County Sheriff's Department,
will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Hytlin-Manor Funeral Home. Rev. B. C. Schmidt will
officiate.
Burial will be in Pond Springs Cemetery under the auspices of Hill City Lodge
No. 456, AF and AM.
Nelson, a lifetime resident of Austin and Travis County, died in a local hospital
Friday. Prior to his job as deputy sheriff, he had served several years with
the Austin Police Department. For 10 years he was an investigator with the Texas
Dental Association.
Nelson was a member of the Ben Hur Shrine and the First Methodist Church.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Vera Nelson, Austin; two sons, Bill Nelson
of Austin and Dick Nelson of El Paso; two brothers, Paul Nelson and Wallace Nelson,
Austin; three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Maynard; Miss Waldine Nelson, and Miss Florence
Nelson, Austin; four grandchildren.
Vera Ona Hunter and William Joseph Nelson had the following children:
