MRS. VIOLA CLOER


Mrs. Viola Elizabeth Cloer, 87, of 1906 Kinney Avenue died at her home Friday evening. She as a member of South Side Church of Christ, and had been a resident of Austin for 35 years.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. C. E. Dye of Austin, Mrs. Ben Rosencran of Llano, and Mrs. W. A. Burkett of Los Banos, Calif.; four sons, B. B. Cloer, J. T. Cloer and Milton Cloer of Austin and J. D. Cloer of Granger, four sisters, Mrs. Winnie Nelson of Austin, Mrs. Ollie Shepherd and Mrs. Ethel Hancock of San Antonio and Mrs. Annie L. Vines of Eastland; three brothers, Leonard East and Jasper East of Austin and Malcolm East of Katy; 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and a number of great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Wilke-Clay Funeral Home.

She was married to William Jonas Cloer (son of Andrew Jackson Cloer and Nancy Frances Tackett) on 23 Jul 1896 in Milam County, Texas. William Jonas Cloer was born on 22 Jul 1876 in Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama. (879) He appeared on the census on 4 Jun 1900 in JP #6, Burnet County, Texas.(880) He appeared on the census on 25 Apr 1910 in JP #8, Comanche County, Texas. (881) He appeared on the census on 12 Apr 1930 in Austin, Travis County, Texas.(882) He died on 17 Oct 1961 in Austin, Travis County, Texas.(883) He was buried in Capitol Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Travis County, Texas.

W. J. CLOER


W. J. Cloer, 85, died at his home, 1906 Kinney Avenue, Tuesday night. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his widow; three daughters, Mrs. Clifton Dye of Austin, Mrs. Ben Rosencran of San Antonio and Mrs. W. A. Burkett of Los Banos, Calif.; four sons, Barney Cloer, J. T. Cloer, and Milton Cloer of Austin, and J. D. Cloer of Granger; sister, Mrs. Gene Nix of Canadian, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The body is at Wilke-Clay Funeral Home where arrangements are pending.
