EDGAR CECIL EAST


Edgar Cecil East, 84, of 4506 Red River, died at the family home Wednesday. He has been a resident of Austin for 50 years, formerly residing in Jayton. He was a member of the Church of Christ and was a retired farmer and motel operator.

Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Mary J. East; two sons, Arnold J. East and Harold C. East, Austin; three brothers, Leonard J. East, Jasper East, both of Austin, and Malcolm East of Houston; five sisters, Mrs. Viola Cloer and Mrs. Winnie Nelson, both of Austin, Mrs. Ethel Hancock and Mrs. Ollie Shepherd, both of San Antonio; Mrs. Annie Vine, Eastland; five grandchildren, Eddie A. East, Gary East, Michael J. East, Clifton D. East, and Miss Mary J. East.

Funeral services will be held at Weed-Corley Funeral Home Thursday at 4 p.m. Rev. Paul J. Joiner will officiate and burial will be in Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Clifton Dye, J. D. Butler, Alvin James East, Louie Gage, Leslie Fox and Oscar West.

He was married to Mary Jane Butler in 1904. Mary Jane Butler was born on 4 Sep 1889 in Texas. She died on 18 Sep 1974 in Comanche County, Texas.⁽⁸⁷⁷⁾ She was buried in Austin Memorial Park, Travis County, Texas.⁽⁸⁷⁸⁾

EAST, Mary Jane Butler, 86, of Comanche, died Wednesday. Services 3:30 p.m. Friday at Westgate Apostolic Church (Weed Corley). Edgar Cecil East and Mary Jane Butler had the following children:
