She appeared on the census on 11 May 1910 in JP #7, Comanche County, Texas. ⁽⁸⁹²⁾ She appeared on the census on 8 Jan 1920 in Blanket, JP No. 3, Brown County, Texas.⁽⁸⁹³⁾ She died on 6 Feb 1967 in Austin, Travis County, Texas. ⁽⁷⁹⁶⁾ She was buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Austin, Travis County, Texas.

MRS. WINNIE EAST NELSON


Funeral services for Mrs. Winnie East Nelson, 82, of 110 E. Johanna will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Wilke-Clay Funeral Home with Rev. Edgar Olfers, pastor of Austin Gospel Tabernacle officiating.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Virgie Swinney and Mrs. Lillian Hopkins, both of Austin; three sisters, Mrs. Allie Shepherd and Mrs. Ethel Hancock, both of San Antonio and Mrs. Annie Vines of Eastland; three brothers, Leonard East and Jasper East of Austin and Malcolm East of Katy; a granddaughter, Mrs. Jeannie White of Cape Kennedy, Fla.; a grandson, Robert Theilpape of Vietnam; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Alvin East, Phillip East, Stramer White, Billy Bob Dye, Barney Cloer and Dickie Goldstein.

Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

She was married to Mark Davis in 1903. Winnie Alberta East and Mark Davis had the following children:

She was married to Ira Hughes in 1908 in Texas. Ira Hughes was born in 1879 in Alabama. Winnie Alberta East and Ira Hughes had the following children:

+1183 i. Lillian Mary Hughes.
1184 ii. Willie C. Hughes was born in 1912. He died in 1931.

Willie Hughes died in a motorcycle accident.

She was married to Oliver Nelson after 1920.
