ASA ELTON RUTLEDGE

Asa Elton Rutledge, age 73, of Austin died Friday, June 17, 1988.

He was a member of the Round Rock Christian Church and was retired from the Austin Police Department after 34 years of service. After retirement he was self-employed as a handwriting expert.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Monday in the Colonial Chapel at Cook-Walden Funeral Home. Lamar location, with Dr. David Baker officiating. Interment will be in Austin Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Rutledge is survived by his wife, Katie Honeycutt Rutledge of Austin; son and daughter-in-law, Tommy L. and Ruth Rutledge of Del Valle; grandson and wife, Richard Elton and Kathy A. Rutledge of Waco; grandson, Michael Layne Rutledge of Del Valle, Tx.

Mr. Rutledge was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Lucy Rutledge, and brother, Dayton F. Rutledge.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

He was married to Doratha Mae DeGlandon (daughter of Amos Ira "Boss" DeGlandon and Mary Elizabeth Willford) in 1936 in Travis County, Texas.(938) Doratha Mae DeGlandon was born on 7 Oct 1913 in Bastrop, Bastrop County, Texas. She died on 30 May 1996 in Bertram, Burnet County, Texas. She was buried in Oakhill Cemetery, McDade, Texas.

DORATHA MAE (DEGLANDON) HENDERSON

Doratha Mae (DeGlandon) Henderson, born October 7, 1913, in Bastrop County, Texas, died Thursday, May 30, 1996.

Mrs. Henderson retired from the City of Austin Public Works Department in 1976, after 30 years of service.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 1996, in the Colonial Chapel at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, Lamar location, with Minister Dennis Crawford of Hyde Park Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be in Oakhill Cemetery in McDade, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Mike Rutledge, Rick Rutledge, Merle Breckenridge, Mark Breckenridge, Lee Hagan, and Dustin Henderson.

She is survived by her husband, Floyd O. Henderson of Austin; sons, Wayne T. Henderson of San Marcos, Floyd E. Henderson and wife Vicky of Palacious, Marvin D. Henderson of Austin, Tommy L. Rutledge and wife Ruth of Bertram; five grandchildren, Richard E. Rutledge and wife Kathy of Kyle, Michael L. Rutledge of Austin, Dustin Henderson of Austin, Eric Henderson of San Marcos, and Meredith Henderson of Palacious; and two great- grandchildren.
Asa Elton Rutledge and Doratha Mae DeGlandon had the following children:

He was married to Thelma Gentry in 1955. Thelma Gentry was born on 14 Mar 1908. She died on 23 Sep 1992 in Austin, Travis County, Texas.
