1266. Lewis Leonard "Bill" Shelton was born on 2 Oct 1903 in Austin, Travis County, Texas. He died on 12 Sep 1957 in Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas. ⁽¹³⁶⁸⁾ He was buried in Seaside Memorial Park, Corpus Christi, Texas.

Mr. Shelton moved to Corpus Christi in 1944, and was an employee of American Smelting & Refining Company, and was a member of the United Steelworkers of America. He was a member of Hillcrest Church of Christ. Mrs. Shelton married second, Clarence Batson.

Lewis Leonard Shelton

Lewis Leonard (Bill) Shelton, 53, of 2926 John, died in a local hospital.

Shelton, an employee of American Smelting & Refining Co., had lived here for 13 years. He was a member of the Hillcrest Church of Christ and the United Steelworkers of America.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Gladys Shelton; two sons, Leonard and Charles of Corpus Christi; his father, Charles M. Shelton of Florence, Texas; two brothers, Howard of Houston and Dennis of Florence, and three sisters, Mrs. R. Isaacks of El Paso, Mrs. Gladys Powell of San Antonio, and Mrs. Cecil Everett of Florence.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Cage-Mills Funeral Home.

He was married to Gladys Lucille Wade (daughter of Jesse H. Wade and Maggie) on 10 Jun 1939 in Austin, Travis County, Texas. Lewis Leonard "Bill" Shelton and Gladys Lucille Wade had the following children:
