NEAL CLAYTON RUTLEDGE DIES IN AUSTIN HOSPITAL

Neal Clayton Rutledge, age 11, of the Lake Victor community, a valiant young lad who underwent Open-Heart surgery in November, 1958 at the Texas Children's Hospital in Houston expired on July 31, 1959 at 2:15 a.m. in Seton Hospital in Austin.

Neal Clayton was born in Lampasas, Texas on May 12, 1948, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Lee Rutledge.

Even though he wasn't well, Neal studied at home and made his grade and was looking forward to being in the sixth grade with his classmates in Burnet Junior High School.

Funeral services were conducted by Minister Silas Howell on Friday, August 1, 1959 at 3:00 p.m. at the Briggs-Gamel Funeral Chapel. Burial was in the Cauble Cemetery near the family home.

Pallbearers were, Jess D'Spain, Denton Farquhar, Charlie Rice, Jr. and Roy Knipe.

Survivors include his heartbroken parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Lee Rutledge-of Lake Victor, a brother, Larry, also of Lake Victor; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. I. W. Rutledge and Mrs. A. B. Kuykendall and a great grandmother, Mrs. Laura Smith.

The sympathy of this entire area goes out to the bereaved family in their great loss.
