From "Old Folks Series"
I was born on 25 Oct. 1830 on Indian Creek, Wayne County, and lived with my parents
until I was married to John C. Rutledge 16 Feb. 1871. I have lived since that
time on Hardin's creek, near Philadelphia Church. My husband died on 22 June
1882, and I have been a widow since that time. I have been a member of the Missionary
Baptist Church for 39 years, and am now a member of the Philadelphia Church,
which I joined soon after I married.
My only child is living on Hardin's creek, and I reside with her and her husband.
My parents were married in North Carolina, and immigrated to this country about
the year 1826, and resided here the remainder of thier lives. I have never been
more than 20 miles from the place where I was born. I can still get about very
well but am failing some. My signt is good. My address is Waynesboro, Tenn.,
R.F.D. No. 1.
