RUTLEDGE -- Alice Noelke, 93, a longtime resident of Point Loma, died Monday, August 11, 1997 in her home.

Alice was the eldest of five sisters. She was born in San Angelo, Texas, and growing up participated actively on the family's sheep and cattle ranch. She still held property on the family ranches and continued her involvement with ranching up until four years ago. With her husband Clyde, she moved to San Diego in early 1920. Her family was the major focus of her life. She valued getting them together for dinners, parties, picnics and holidays. She especially enjoyed traveling with family and making all outings into special adventures. She was a member of Point Loma Assembly, three book clubs and was an avid bridge player. She loved the ocean and especially La Jolla Cove.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clyde and is survived by her son Keith
Rutledge (wife Sue), and three daughters Ann Hewitt (Cliff), Penny Campbell
(Clint), and Vicki Gascon; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

A family service was held Wednesday, August 13.
