He was buried in Whitharral Cemetery, Hockley County, Texas.

Manie Rutledge was died while working for one of the railroads in Texas. Moved to Levelland, and then to Big Spring in 1928.

He was married to Addie Lavena Glenn (daughter of John Paisley Glenn and Sarah Elizabeth Walden) on 21 Oct 1896 in Austin, Travis County, Texas. Addie Lavena Glenn was born on 20 Jan 1878 in Bull Creek, Travis County, Texas.⁽⁹⁶¹⁾ She appeared on the census in Jun 1900 in JP #6, Liberty County, Texas. ⁽⁹⁶²⁾ She appeared on the census on 23 Apr 1910 in JP #8, Williamson County, Texas.⁽⁹⁶³⁾ She appeared on the census on 7 Jan 1920 in JP #6, Jackson County, Texas. ⁽⁹⁶⁴⁾ She appeared on the census on 5 Apr 1930 in Precinct #1, Howard County, Texas.⁽⁹⁶⁵⁾ She died on 10 Dec 1964 in Big Spring, Howard County, Texas.⁽⁹⁶⁶⁾ She was buried in Whitharral Cemetery, Hockley County, Texas.

RITES SET FOR MRS. RUTLEDGE

Mrs. Addie Glenn Rutledge, 86, of 404 Goliad, died at 7 p.m. Wednesday in a local hospital after a short illness.

She was born Jan. 30, 1878 in Austin, and was married to Manie Rutledge Oct. 21, 1898. He died Nov. 6, 1928.

The family moved to Big Spring in November, 1928 from Levelland. She was a member of the Park Methodist Church.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the Nalley-Pickle Rosewood chapel with Dr. H. Clyde Smith, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be at 5 p.m. Friday in the Whitharral, Texas Cemetery under the direction of Nalley-Pickle Funeral Home.

Surviving are three sons, Virgil Rutledge, Hereford, M. C. Rutledge and J. T. Rutledge, Big Spring; a daughter, Ruby Rutledge, Big Spring; two brothers, Jasper Glenn and Charlie Glenn, both of Austin; three sisters, Mrs. Cora Warren, Austin, Mrs. Arrie Estepp, Crane, Mrs. Buelah Bell, San Angelo; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be nephews.


Manie Eugene Rutledge and Addie Lavena Glenn had the following children:

1220 ii. Effie Rutledge was born in 1900. She died in 1906. She was buried in Pond Springs Cemetery, Williamson County, Texas.

1223 v. Ruby Lavenia Rutledge was born on 25 Jun 1905 in Pond Springs, Williamson County, Texas. She died on 16 Apr 1993 in Big Spring, Howard County, Texas. ⁽⁹⁶⁷⁾ She was buried in Whitharral Cemetery, Hockley County, Texas.
