111. Annie Adolphus Dooley was born in 1849 in Tennessee. She died in 1891. She was buried in New Bethlehem Cemetery, Desoto County, Mississippi.

She was married to Reuben Turner Pollard (son of Howell T. Pollard and Emily Antoinette Tripp) about 1867. Reuben Turner Pollard was born in 1840 in Panola County, Mississippi. He appeared on the census on 4 Jun 1880 in District #13, Shelby County, Tennessee.⁽³⁰¹⁾ He died on 29 Mar 1894. He was buried in New Bethlehem Cemetery, Desoto County, Mississippi.

Reuben Turner Pollard

Teacher, born 1839 [need location]. He lived in Panola County, Mississippi while a student at the University of Mississippi. Following the War Pollard was one of nine known surviving members of the University of Mississippi Class of 1861. These survivors were awarded diplomas in June of 1866 by the University. After the War he taught in Whitehaven, Tennessee. Pollard died on March 29, 1894 and is buried with his wife in Horn Lake, Mississippi.


Enlisted November 1, 1861, Grenada, Miss. in Co. C, 1st Mississippi Cavalry
Listed as “absent sick” on the April 30-October 30, 1862 muster roll
Name appears on a list of POWs paroled at Memphis, Tennessee, May 17 & 18 [no year given]

Promoted to 2nd Sergeant in 1864

September 17, 1864 attended the Constantine Chapter meeting near Jonesboro, Ga.
October-November 1864 the 28th Miss Cavalry was on picket duty on Shoal Creek near UNA

Surrendered at Citronelle, Ala. and paroled May 19, 1865 at Grenada, Miss.
