EMIT series 2008

For the past thirteen years, over 130 events involving new music, free jazz, world, interactive electronics, improvisation and interdisciplinary art forms that incorporate sound have been featured in the EMIT series. EMIT is recipient of programming awards from from Chamber Music America, ASCAP and the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation.

Alfredo Triff Trio

Miami violinist Alfredo Triff brings his amazing world-class Afro-Cuban trio to the Dalí Museum to coincide with the museum's current exhibit, “Wifredo Lam”.   Both traditional and experimental, this trio features one of the finest conga players anywhere, Daniel Ponce, as well as the remarkable bassist Alex Berti.   The Alfredo Triff Trio from Miami combine Afro-Cuban music with experimentation.   Both Triff and Ponce were a part of New York’s Loisaida neighborhood downtown music scene of the early 1980s, collaborating on many recordings with Eddie Palmieri , Kip Hanrahan and Bill Laswell among others.  

Refreshments served and beer and wine for sale. Admission is $10 General; $8 Seniors & Students; $5 Dalí Members. Tickets are available only at door.
