The hope for a local library began one fall day in 1990, as Reverend Joan Biles and Miriam Wood were discussing the needs of the community. One of those needs was the accessibility to a local library. The surrounding cities of Statham, Bethlehem and Carl all had branches of the Piedmont Regional Library. Why couldn't Auburn?
Reverend Biles called Mr. Ted Roberts, Director of the Piedmont Regional Library, for information. Ted arranged a meeting, visited the proposed site, and offered recommendations for the next step.
