In his "State of the City" address January 4th, 2007, Mayor Money committed to building a skate park this year in the City of Auburn.
Skate Park Committee meeting was held December 3rd at 4 p.m.
A list of obstacles recommended by the committee is as follows;
Skill level - middle to advanced:
Mixture of street and vertical with emphasis on street
Street obstacles:
Rails - mixture of flat and rounded at various stair heights
Stairs - 4/6/8/10 and maybe 12 with handrail (some with single rails, maybe add a kink rail at smaller stairs)
Hubbas (with steel edges)
Wall ride
Ledges - some curved with rail (with steel edges)
Pyramid with a hip
Volcano
Rainbow Rail - 3 to 4 ft. high
Jersey barrier
Bench with metal edges
Vertical obstacles:
Kona Pool (key hole or kidney shaped, 3 ft. to 10 ft. w/ stairs in shallow) w/ pool coping Bowl section starting at 4' and gradually increasing height to maybe 10'+/-(seperate from pool) possibly connected with a full pipe (steel coping at bowl areas)
