It was a rainy night in Georgia as I stood in the doorway with my girl watching a deep
purple haze blowing in the wind across a harvest moon and wondered if the seeds I planted
yesterday would still be there tomorrow or would they be gone with the wind.
"PRUNE TO WIN" CONTEST
Fiskars Introduces a Virtual Pruning Game
Picture this: It¹s a gorgeous day outside and you¹re just
aching to be outside, tinkering in your garden. Instead, you¹re stuck inside,
pecking away on your keyboard and staring at a computer screen...
Now, thanks to Fiskars Garden & Outdoor Living and the new
"Prune to Win" game, available at
http://www.fiskars.com/prunetowin, you can turn that screen into a virtual
backyard, complete with hedges, rose bushes, trees and flowering plants. This
lush virtual greenery does what real plants do on a sunny summer day: it grows!
Players can pick from four different Fiskars Garden Tools to prune back the
growing plants before they completely take over the yard. Every proper cut earns
the player points. But, there¹s a catch: each type of plant must be trimmed with
the proper tool for the task, requiring players to know (or perhaps learn!) a
little bit about the right tools for the job. If the incorrect tool is chosen,
the player will lose points. That's right, you need a little strategy, rather
than brute force clicking, to get the highest scores! Players need to react
quickly during each of three 30 second rounds because the plants keep growing
faster and faster.
And, for those who best keep the thriving plants under
control, there are potential rewards of both fortune and fame. Players
completing the game are encouraged to submit their scores for a chance to win
one of three deluxe garden tool packages featuring the tools used in the game
itself. In addition to the potential prizes, the game continues a time-honored
arcade tradition of maintaining the highest scores and displaying them with the
players' initials for future players to see and aspire to. Being the expert
gardener you are, I bet you can get those initials of yours at the top of your
list, and maybe win a few Fiskars Garden Tools, too!
Enjoy!
All prizes will be mailed at no expense to winners.
Winner's names will be posted unless requested otherwise.
