William Fancher (Son of David)

William Fancher was baptized in Stratford, Connecticut, in March 1745. Administration papers on his estate were granted August 11, 1779, but the pension records at Washington, D. C. state that he was killed by the enemy in a skirmish, June 8, 1780 in the eastern part of Stamford, now Darien. He married first in Darien, July 2, 1771 to Esther Seward, daughter of Samuel Seward of Stamford and secondly in Darien, December 8, 1777 to Thankful Smith of Norwalk, Connecticut who later married July 11, 1781 to Asa Cole of Wilton, Connecticut. She died a widow November 25, 1840, aged 94 years.

2. Esther, baptized in Darien, April 4, 1779; married Ruben Lockwood.
