The Dickens and The Knack
History:
The Dickens started in Toronto's Yorkville Village
as the Knack, a folk-rock group. The folk and folk-rock sounds were big in the Village, and the Knack played in the
local coffee houses. Soon, the group were looking at possible record deals when a US group named The Knack released
a single. The Canadian Knack were forced to change their name to The Dickens. No records were released under either
name, although the group recieved their fair share of publicity!
Many thanks to Emily and her mom Andrea Goble
for information and the fabulous clippings and photos. More on the Dickens soon....
