The past few days have been filled with days of preparation for the Hurricane Season which starts June first. We also enjoyed a great week-end in Ft. Myers with the Gulf Coast Church, preaching, reporting and having a special meeting with the elders. This is our sponsoring congregation. Our final report week-end will be June 4th with the West Broward Church in Ft. Lauderdale. This is also my birthday! The Lord willing I will be 66. There are no plans for retirement in case you are wondering. We do have a number of speaking appointments set up for the summer, including the Bring Your Friend Day in Freeport in June, and a time to work with the Drug Abuse Team in Exuma.

We have stockpiled more Bibles.(The next ones will cost us 50% more) After a Hurricane, those who have lost all, want Water, Food, and a Bible in that order. We are so thankful to the young people at Longmire Road in Conroe for their constant labor in collecting soda cans and buying Bibles. This year again we will furnish the Bibles for Lincoln Young in Eleuthera for the annual Youth Bible Knowledge Contest. First place winners in all categories win one of our lovely Bibles. Ann Sands, a new Christian, is helping Lincoln this year.

Plans have been made for groups to come to the Bahamas and work with several congregations early this summer. We hope to have everyone home by the end of July when the Hurricane season really gets strong. These groups will be doing personal work, holding meetings, conducting Christian Day Camps, and Vacation Bible Schools. In addition to the groups we have a number of couples and individuals who will visit.( We are excited that Bahamians will be working with the Camp in Exuma during the second week, and the Church in Freeport just made a $500 contribution to the camp.) Among the summer visitors is George Hall who will be spending the week-end in Abaco July first, and sharing the concepts of Preacher and Teacher Training Schools that he has been setting up in South America. We have been giving thought to getting programs going again in several Islands. It has been a number of years since the very successful Harding Schools of Biblical Studies were active in Nassau and Freeport. We believe that some modifications to the methods used in South America with great success would be very viable in the Islands.

Building repairs and additional construction has been taking place in several locations as we batten down the hatches for the Summer and Fall.

Dinah and I are doing something we have not done in eighteen years. We are taking a few days vacation starting tomorrow. We should return rested and ready for the active Summer.

Most of you should have received a letter from Gulf Coast with a financial report. This is the last report from Danny Osborne who has faithfully kept all records for many years. We are thankful to him for the time and talent, and pray for him and Laurie as they struggle with her health. If you know of someone not on our e-mail report list, please let us know and we will be happy to add them. We are thankful to Raymond Rodrigues for taking over this vital duty. We believe that accurate accounting of all finances is a must.

Thank you so much for your prayers and support. Checks can be made to Bahama Mission Church of Christ, and sent:
