Dinah and I are recovering from an extensive speaking trip to visit with supporters of the work in the Bahamas. Acts 14:26 gives an example of the apostle Paul returning to the Church in Antioch to report on all that the Lord had done through them as they reached out to the Gentiles. The work that we do is not "David and Dinah's" work in the Bahamas, but the "Lord's Work" and hundreds of faithful brethren are involved. We are thankful for the great relationships we sustain with supporters and pray that we will all be well informed, and a vital part of the outreach. We flew more than 4000 miles and visited brethren in Ringgold, Ga., Mena, Arkansas, Desdemona, Longmire Road in Conroe, Graeber Road in Rosenburg, Crockett, Grapeland, Rockport, Point Comfort, Crosby, and Pecos Texas. We conducted 4 day meetings in Ringgold and Pecos. We did get to visit my 87 year old mom in Arlington and she loaned her car and traveled with us to Desdemona. My sister and brother in law (Cleo and Judy Tarver) not only hosted us, but drove us to many appointments. Dr. John Garner in Crockett is a very distant cousin of mine, ( His grandmother and Mine were Cousins) and did some extensive work on our teeth. He says he has not finished. Getting old is tough. I thought I was finished when he spent more than two hours extracting a tooth that was beyond repair. I have a high tolerance for pain, but I found out it was not that high! We made all of our appointments except for that Wednesday night. The brethren in Crosby were kind enough to delay my trip till the next week.

A highlight was spending some time with the small group of young people at Longmire Road, in Conroe. These are the nine of so kids that range from 3 or 4 years old to teens. They began selling soda cans to buy Bibles about 3 years ago. Most in the congregation were skeptical when they set a goal of $5000. One of the elders told me that they did not want to discourage them, but also wanted them to have a realistic goal that they could achieve! The Sunday we visited with them, they presented me with a check of $1000. This is their ninth $1000 check. What an inspiration they are to all of us who are older. The whole congregation works hard each week in collecting soda cans, and now used ink cartridges, to be turned into money for Bibles. They also have "Bahama Bible" cans in their classrooms. They put money from their allowances and I am told that sometimes they get a boost from older members of the congregation. This is one of the most exciting programs I know about. May God's blessings continue to shower on these great dedicated young men and women!

Next Sunday we are to be in Nassau after trips to Abaco and Eleuthera. I have new wheelchair batteries and some cash to deliver to Lincoln Young. (Thanks to a special contribution from a Texas family). The computers at his bank in Rock Sound have been messed up for about 3 weeks. The new batteries have a new type of terminals. So I have collected various parts to rig them to work. Someone is always trying to improve on a great system without any knowledge of how it will affect people who do not live in downtown Dallas where things are available. A number of good programs are in progress in the Islands. Several congregations are going through the "Fishers of Men Studies" with Brother Hatcher. Studies are being taught and souls are being brought to the Master. We rejoice in the spiritual growth and the outreach of these congregations. They build on the foundations laid and continue to grow.

Flying home through the dense smoke in Florida convinced me that I do not want to fly on Instruments without an autopilot ever again. After the last 40 miles we broke out on final approach at Palm Beach International Airport. Dinah was quietly praying until we got on the ground. She is a trooper! Later this month we will be in Ft. Myers, Florida with our sponsoring congregation and next month in Ft. Lauderdale with the West Broward Church.

We are thankful for your support and prayers. Checks can be made to Bahama Mission Church of Christ, and sent:
