To enter the chat room, enter your name, etc., as requested, then click on "OK, connect." Meet other N.C. libertarians and discuss libertarian news and events in our state. (You must have a Java-enabled browser to participate. The chat room application takes a few moments to load, so please be patient.)
The chat room is available 24 hours a day. However, to be sure of finding other people here, you may want to arrange with your friends and members of your libertarian group to meet here at a pre-arranged time and date.
This page is provided by me, R. Stephen Smith (email: freedom1@mindspring.com), as a service to all freedom-minded persons in North Carolina. For the near future, I personally will try to be in the chat room every Wednesday at 9 p.m. for a regular "liberty hour." Please join me then.

CHAT TOPIC ADVISORY
This chat room is intended for libertarian discussion, particularly as it relates to news and events in North Carolina. However, the room is not moderated (even during the regularly "hosted" Wednesday night chat session), so anyone with an appropriately configured web browser can enter at any time and talk about any subject he or she desires. The webmaster (R. Stephen Smith) reserves the right to "take down" the chat room if in his opinion it ever ceases to serve his primary purpose in making it available. All users are urged to keep their chats within shouting distance of the libertarian ballpark, if not always inside it.
CHAT ROOM TIPS
After logging in, you can see who else is in the room in the window on the right of the chat room screen. To participate in the discussion, just type your comments, then hit "Enter."
You may customize the chat window, fonts, and colors. For help on how to change fonts and colors, type "*chat" (without quotation marks) in the text window and hit "Enter."
Customizing command examples:
*chat bgcolor black (changes background color of the chat window to black)
*chat fgcolor green (changes text color of the chat window to green)
*chat font courier (changes font of the chat window to Courier)
*chat fontsize 14 (changes font size of the chat window to 14)
*chat (gives help on the entire list of commands available)

Click on the "F.A.Q." button above to find out more about the free chat room service provided by ParaChat. If you have a web page, it is easy to set up a chat room through ParaChat. Mary Lou Seymour of South Carolina, and I, R. Stephen Smith of North Carolina, are especially encouraging libertarians in every state to set up similar live chat rooms.
