"WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT HALLOWEEN"

The Bible says nothing about Halloween. Since the "observance" of the day began long after the culture from which the Bible came had passed away there are no specific references to it.

Many have argued that christians should take no part in Halloween due to its ties to witchcraft the occult, and other demonic forces. In Acts 19.18-19, the Bible says that following an incident between some Jewish exorcists and en evil spirit, 'And many who had believed came confessing and telling their deeds. " {19} 'Also, many of those who had practiced magic brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted up the value of them, and it totaled fifty thousand pieces of silver. "

The Bible says that christians should, 'Abstain from every, form of evil, " (1 Thessalonians 5:22). In 2 Corinthians 6:17-7:1

the Bible says, "Therefore `Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you. " {18} "I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, 'Says the LORD Almighty. " (7:1) Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the, fear of God " Passages like these convict the consciences of many christians so that it would be wrong for them to participate or to allow their children to participate in Halloween activities.

The Bible says that during our childhood years we approach life through a different perspective than in the later adult years (1 Corinthians 13:11). Many children actively engage in Halloween activities like trick or treating, carving pumpkins and decorating the house, wearing costumes, and attending Halloween parties. These things are done with never a thought or pang of conscience that they might be associated with demons, witches, the black arts, or other elements that are ungodly in their nature.

However, the Bible also says that the christian is to live life with a conscience free from any uncertainty or guilt in regard to activities that are engaged in (Romans 14.22-23). If a child of God engages in Halloween activities or in any other enterprise with doubts or uncertainties as to the rightness or wrongness of it then the christian has sinned.
