The Bible
says that the church and the kingdom are one in the same (Colossians
1:13-18). The kingdom came into being on the day of Pentecost with a
great manifestation of power from God (Mark 9:1; Acts 1:6-8; 2:1-47).
The Bible
says that this kingdom would encompass all the other kingdoms of the
world (Daniel 2:44). It does. Jesus promised that the church as the
kingdom would grow and flourish in the world (Matthew 13:1-52). It has.
The Bible says that the kingdom of God will be eternal (2 Peter 1:11).
It is.
The Bible
also says that the church as a kingdom will not fight any physical
battle or war on earth (John 18:36). If this had been the design of the
kingdom then Jesus' followers would have physically fought the mob who
took Him and crucified Him. Jesus clearly condemned this idea (Matthew
26:52-56). The warfare for members of the church, or the kingdom, is
spiritual (Ephesians 6:10-20).
The Bible
says that the church is a spiritual kingdom. Luke 17:20-21 says, "Now
when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come,
He answered them and said, "The kingdom of God does not come with
