Shea and I made it to Leipzig, Germany for the 9th Wave-Gotik Treffen. The experience was just about beyond words. But I tried to put it in words - just look here.
The event was also beyond pictures. You can only get the barest hint from the photos. I'm not so satisfied with how my pictures came out, but then, I wasn't focussing on taking pictures. I was too busy trying to absorb as much as I could. The numbers - 30,000+ people, 350+ bands, dozens of associated events in dozens of locations, squeezed into four days (that actually turned into three) - gives you an idea.
I only chose 13 pictures to put online (there are more yet-to-be-developed hiding in my camera). I divided them into two pages - click on the thumbnail to see the larger-size.
I'm also not so satisfied about the quality of the scans. To see more photos, I was pointed to this site in Russia - have a look. This person was also much bolder about snapping pictures of people than me.
