Whiskers on Pine From the flatlands of Southeast Georgia in the 1950s, in a time of innocence and cropping tobacco... before Birmingham, the Freedom Riders, or the Vietnam war, comes this engaging tale of a boy's journey into manhood. Stunned by his sweetheart's rejection of him, he initiates an imaginary series of violent acts against those who have wronged him. In a quiet and grand way, Larry Hand has penned a universal metaphor for life and taken the reader for a quiet look back down the road from innocence to manhood. |

Roseflower
Creek "The morning I died it rained. Poured down so hard it washed the blood off my face." Thus begins the story of Lori Jean, whose short life and death are woven into this poignant, heart wrenching novel set in the rural South of the 1950s. In a voice as authentic as that of a seasoned writer, Ms. Miles tells of the juxtaposition of innocence and wisdom in this ill-fated child. Watch for the sequel. "...powerful, extraordinary. The characters haunt the reader long
after the last page is turned." |

Earth, the Forgotten
Temple: Niki Collins-Queen is an ideal member of Georgia Writers. . . an active writer. She attends meetings in Macon and Milledgeville. "Taking a leap of faith, Niki Collins-Queen gave up a successful career and the comforts of civilization. Earth, the Forgotten Temple is the inspiring true story about a woman's spirit quest while she hitchhiked on sailboats in the Bahamas, backpacked alone, and canoed in the Everglades and on the Suwannee River." We quote James Palmer, editor of The Macon Telegraph. Earth, the Forgotten Temple is a brave book by a brave woman who has endured the dangers nature can offer as well as the joys it brings those who take the time to fully appreciate its wonder. . . But its essence is that of a quest-- one person seeking the true spirit of nature and God.". Please see www.dreamwater.com/biz/earth/ to order books directly from Niki. |

"Would it Kill You to Smile?" If you like snappy dialogue and a fresh story you'll enjoy this funny first novel. The book opens with Will Keats's ventriloquist/comic father, Skipper, dropping dead on stage. Dapper, his wooden-headed sidekick, is scheduled to accompany him to his reward. But Will, hearing him call for his freedom from the crypt, resolves to liberate the dummy and finds he has been stolen from the casket. Why? Reminiscent of the style of the Sam Spade novels, the book is a great fast read. |
