The Lenaeus Page

The Lenaeus Family to which George Erland Lenaeus is a member has it's beginings in Sweden. We have a great deal of information begining with Augustin Nilsson Lenaeus born May 15, 1699 died August 18, 1788 during his life he became Barber Surgeon of the Regiment in the Provience of Jemtland.

My Great Grandfather was Johan Julius Otto Lenaeus born October 1, 1827. He married Maria Johnson April 21, 1862. Maria was the daughter of a member of the Swedish Paliament at the time. She was born June 4, 1841 and died July 14, 1882. All of their living children except Johanna Maria emigrated to the United States. Their children were:

  • Johanna Maria Ulrika Lenaeus born February 4, 1863. She died a spinster.
  • Knut August Otto Lenaeus born July 10, 1864. Emigrated to Oregon USA no record.
  • Nils Henrik Arvid Lenaeus born January 19, 1870
  • Per Johan Erlan Lenaeus born October 17, 1871 (my Grandfather)
  • Karl Olof Jonas Lenaeus born December 18, 1873
  • Anna Margaretha Helena Lenaeus born June 4, 1879
