Father Archange Godbout (who was in his time one of the most outstanding genealogists in French Canad) in his Dictionanire des Acadiens says plainly on page 423 that the second Rene Landry, born 1634, "came from France with his wife:.The surname Landry, considered to be the second oldest name in France, is a name steeped in history, religion and culture.
