Marriage Note
Her marriage records to G. F. Bissett shows her as "widow".
Marriage Note
There is no documented reason why this second marriage took place between these same individuals. It suggests, however, that George Frederick Bissett's English wife may have been left behind in England when he returned ti Nova Scotia after leaving the Navy. Sometime after the earlier marriage to Mary Ann Maddox, it may have been discovered that his first wife was still alive - thus requiring a second marriage after he could prove her death. Supporting this hypothesis is the fact that George Frederick is listed as a "widower" in this marriage record.Marriage Variation - [date: 18 NOV 1816] [place: Saint Paul's Anglican, Halifax, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada]
