The legendary number 11. The best scorer in the history of Soviet National Championships, Oleg Blokhin has played 18 years (1969-1988) of his illustrous career as a highly successful forward of Dynamo Kiev. As a Dynamo Kiev player he had won 7 USSR National Championships, 2 European Cup Winners' Cups (1975, 1986), a SuperCup (1975), The Golden Ball (as the top European Footballer in 1975), bronze medals at the Olympic Games in Munich(1972). Oleg also became the best scorer at USSR Championships 6 times, and claimed the honors of a Soviet National League Player of the Year 5 times. He is a member of a 100-game club of the footballers who have played more than 100 games for their respective national teams. He had scored 37 goals while wearing the red colors of Soviet National team. He is the only Soviet player to have scored more than 200 goals (211 in 432 matches) in USSR National League matches, and more than 300 goals in the official competitions for Dynamo Kiev and USSR National Team overall. By far, he was the best, most famous, and the most feared player in the history of Soviet football.

At the end of his illustrous career, Oleg Blokhin was allowed to play abroad. He helped a provincial austrian club Vorvaerts Stayr reach the elite league of Austrian football in 1988. Played 1989/1990 season at Aris Limassol of Cyprus league. From there Oleg moved to Greece where he was a head coach in three Greek clubs, Olimpiakos Pireaus (1990 - 1993), PAOK Saloniki (1993 - 1994), Aris Athens (1994 - 1997).

After ending his coaching career in Greece, in 1997, Oleg Blokhin returned to Ukraine and served a term as a member of Ukrainian Legislative Body - the Rada. Oleg Blokhin has recently become the head coach of the Ukrainian National Team
