New version online should be more bug free and should avoid any problems with hero switching.
This is a Warlords scenario depicting the hypothetical future of the County Tyrangel, a fantasy role-playing campaign run by NERO-Atlanta, a Live-action Role-playing Organization headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. This scenario is not a commercial product, is in no way officially affiliated with either NERO-Atlanta or SSG or Red Orb Entertainment (the creators and publishers of Warlords), and is not designed to officially interact with the Tyrangel campaign setting.
This scenario is written for Warlords III: Darklords Rising version 1.02. In order to play, you will require the 1.02 patch which is available at http://www.warlords3.com - or directly from this site: http://www.mindspring.com/~gollwyn/games/w3dlr_102_us.exe
Once you have the patch to version 1.02 installed on your system, you can proceed to download the scenario - it will be a file called tyrbeta.w3s - copy that file into your Warlords directory (usually \program files\warlords iii - darklords rising\), then open the Warlords III Scenario Editor and choose the option to unpack scenario.
When running the game, please note that the scenario is designed to run with the standard sides included with the game, and that these sides include some modified and new units (including some units from the NUT project at Warlords III Central). Therefore when setting up the scenario, do not check the "use standard data" option at game startup, and choose "scenario" for starting cities, armies, etc.
This scenario is a beta-test, most of the starting armies and heroes are more or less placed arbitrarily. I would appreciate feedback regarding any play balance issues. The game is designed so that if the three baronies and the county more or less hang together, they should prevail.
The sides are generally a bit "lower" fantasy than most standard warlords sets, and are by and large less than 2000 point sides (with one exception). None of the sides were designed to be internet competitive, but if there is any interest, they can be placed online seperate from the scenario. Likewise, the specialty units that are not from the NUT project are also available upon request.
If you have suggestions for modifications, or just feedback on the scenario, please feel free to email me at gollwyn@mindspring.com - Thanks!
