Two interesting  phrenology heads, both c1840: one,  handsomely  modeled  in plaster with its original  tablet-form key (height: 6") ;  the other of porcelain (height: 5.75")  in inkwell form,  stamped on the front of the base: "By H. Bridges Phrenologist".

A fine  c 1840 fruitwood and ivory Piorry's stethoscope  SOLD and  a scarce example of   Stein's sphygmometer, c1910,  with its original case.

A cased phimosis or circumcision  dilator made by Weiss in the early 1830s. The case is labeled and the instrument signed. It is shown together with an unsigned  scissors-form Victorian  phimosis forceps and a phimosis dilator for which E.B. Foote was granted a US patent on June 7, 1881. Phimosis is a condition in which the penile foreskin cannot be retracted. ALL THREE ITEMS HAVE BEEN SOLD.

Cased and fully signed c1860s Galezowski tubular ophthalmoscope in aluminum (then a precious metal!) and a cased Coccius ophthalmoscope produced within a few years of Von Helmholtz's 1851 article on the development of this instrument. Finally, an extremely  rare, late 19th century, Antonelli scotometer that was used for the detection of scotomas, i.e., defects in the central visual field.

A fine c1880  Tobold's laryngoscope with its original domed case--see larger image.  It is complete and in excellent condition with virtually all of its original nickel plating.
Alternative medicine in another age: a c1900  asthma "necklace". Examples of this necklace very seldom surface and this one is  mint and boxed with its original paperwork intact.
