In my college years, I was a part of club dedicated to Japanese animation, most commonly referred to as "anime". I really liked the club, and I feel proud of my work in that club. I wrote articles for the club newsletter. I drove people and items to keep the club alive. I even thought I made some pretty good friends that I would stay close for the rest of life. It didn't turn out that way. The others moved on, stopped keeping in touch. In reality, I was little more than a scrub in a world filled with fanatics who wouldn't care how messed up their lives were. I was even loyal to a dear friend but she betrayed me. Do I sound bitter? Well, watch that friend get drunk, watch her sit on your lap and come on to you, refuse her advances, and watch her call you a fool. It's not pretty, and I digress.
