Flying Carpets in Baghdad? No, Flying Shoes

BAGHDAD December 14, 2008
President Bush made a valedictory visit on Sunday to Iraq, the country that will largely define his legacy, but the trip will more likely be remembered for the unscripted moment when an Iraqi journalist hurled his shoes at Mr. Bush’s head and denounced him on live television as a “dog” who had delivered death and sorrow here from nearly six years of war.

Iraq's brave and emotional journalist, Muntader Zaidi, threw his

shoes at Bush and he is now evidently incarcerated. But we up here in heaven say "release him, let him go!" He was only expressing what many of us have felt for the past terrible six years - that Mr. Bush acted irresponsibly and reprehensibly when he started his unnecessary war in Iraq. Way to go Muntader!
